Solar energy systems are more reliable, cost-effective and attractive than ever. No more clunky technology that provides anything other than an eyesore. EFS works hard to implement the best cutting-edge technology in design and installation. And with the price of electricity projected to continue rising, solar allows for a “fixed” price of electricity that will keep your electric bills consistently lower.
Residential: Reduce your energy bills. Increase your level of comfort.
Below are more reasons to love the sun.
Will solar work for your home?
There are a few fundamental requirements a system needs in order to bring clean, inexpensive solar to your home:
– Solar requires a reasonable amount of non-shaded, unobstructed roof space in order to maximize a solar energy system.
– Solar panels should generally be south-facing, however east and west facing roofs can still capture over 80% of the power of a south-facing roof.
– In-ground-mounted systems may be considered to obtain optimal directional and tilt angles.
A solar energy system quickly pays for itself.
Just like any other commercial investment, solar is a long-term investment that will pay for itself. However, with the current incentives: 30% Federal ITC, potential rebates, depreciation, and monthly energy savings from the utility (many of which are when demand charges and peak-hours are high), the first 5-year savings average from 50-100%. One of the main factors in the energy savings over the lifetime of the system are the rate increases from the utility companies, which have averaged of 7% over the past 5 years*. That’s savings back in your pocket.
The cost of a solar energy system for the home.
On average, a home in the Midwest has enough roof space to fit 20 solar photovoltaic panels equating to a 5kW-6kW system size. Our typical price point is around $4.50 per installed watt and this is before any federal or statewide incentive program applies and includes equipment, labor, engineering and electrical work, backend paperwork with your power company, permitting, and other associated costs of installing a full solar energy system.
There are also other factors that can affect cost, such as shading, roof pitches and angles, inhouse financing, restrictions with AHJ’s or historic districts, battery backup systems, or your own personal preferences for your system. To help with this investment, we offer many solutions for homeowners from in house financing options to other professionally recommended efficiency solutions to further lower your monthly bills and increase your overall efficiency.
The bright side of solar.
Just look at all the benefits of having solar panels installed on your home.
SOLAR ENERGY IS AN INVESTMENT
Residential solar is a solid financial investment in your own property due to long-term guaranteed energy savings and increased property value.
REDUCE YOUR ENERGY BILLS
Generate virtually free power for the system’s entire 25+ year lifecycle even if the system doesn’t produce 100-percent of the energy your household consumes.
HELP BECOME INDEPENDENT OF POWER COMPANIES
Protect against consistently rising electricity costs. Effectively, you are no longer susceptible to rate increases for the next 25+ years.
INCREASE YOUR PROPERTY VALUE
According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, home values could rise an average of $20 for every $1 reduction in annual utility bills.
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT
Solar is truly a clean source of energy. It creates less pollution like greenhouse gasses and other harmful emissions and will pay for its own carbon footprint within the first three years.
Save big with solar incentives and tax benefits.
There are Federal and Statewide incentive programs available to help urge home owners to install solar energy on their properties. Different statewide programs and utility company rebates may be in place at the time you are looking to install so ask us today if you qualify for any other incentives.
30% Federal Investment Tax Credit
Taxpayer may claim a credit of 30% of qualified expenditures for a system that is served to the taxpayer’s property.
Solar Renewable Energy Credit Program (SRECs)
Based on your system size, this program has the potential to credit up to an additional 35% of your total system costs.
Qualifying solar energy equipment is eligible for a cost recovery period of 5 years.
Net Metering and Utility Company Rebates
In addition to net metering with your utility provider, certain utilities provide additional rebates for installing solar photovoltaic energy to your property. See additional rebates here.
What is a renewable energy credit, or REC?
RECs are tradable, non-tangible energy commodities that represent 1 megawatt-hour of electricity generated from an eligible renewable energy source. Select markets are participating at different levels so check in with us today about the options in your state.
Residential solar financing.
HERO is a local government-approved program that makes energy-efficient and water-saving home upgrades affordable for homeowners. HERO offers 100% financing up to your approved amount, and payments are made along with your property taxes—and you repay the full amount over time.
UNSECURED LOAN OPTION
Going solar has never been more affordable, and now that EFS Energy has partnered with Dividend Finance it’s never been easier for homeowners to make their solar dream a reality!
- $0 Down Financing

Be energy independent.
There are plenty of power plants across the country that are old and need to be retired. To do that, new power plants must be built along with the appropriate infrastructure. Switching to solar means you can lock-in the price of electricity for well into the future, guaranteeing that you won’t be affected by electricity price increases.
Solar is never an issue for homeowner associations.
Missouri is one of 39 states across the U.S. that have solar access laws to protect you from any restrictions your HOA may have in place. EFS Energy has experience with working with a variety of subdivisions, associations, and other groups.
